Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], is pleased to announce that American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger attended GQ Germany’s annual “Men of the Year” ceremony where he was honored with the “Fashion Designer of the Year” award. As Hilfiger celebrates the 30th anniversary of his global lifestyle brand, the award acknowledges the impact he has had on the international fashion industry throughout his career.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized with this award by GQ Germany,” said Tommy Hilfiger in his acceptance speech at the ceremony. “This has been a fantastic year, as we’ve been celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Tommy Hilfiger brand with special events around the world. Receiving this award is an amazing memento from this milestone in my career.”

Throughout his career, Hilfiger has committed himself to mentorship and supporting emerging talent in the fashion industry, from his numerous design collaborations to his work with the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the British Fashion Council, and local design programs in Israel, India and Germany, amongst others. His optimistic and democratic approach to fashion – as seen in his affinity for digital technology and social media – continues to open the brand to an expansive global audience of fans and followers.

Hilfiger was presented the award by German supermodel Toni Garrn, who has worked extensively with Tommy Hilfiger in the past, appearing in the brand’s advertising campaigns and runway shows.

Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger was joined by fellow award recipients including singers Bryan Adams and Tom Jones; actors Josh Hartnett, Til Schweiger, and Mads Mikkelsen; pianist Lang Lang; actress and “Gentlewoman of the Year” Isabelle Huppert; and host Barbara Schöneberger. Guests enjoyed live performances by Adams, Jones and Lang.
